The climate crisis is one of the biggest challenges of our time, but for many—especially young people—it can feel overwhelming. Eco-anxiety is on the rise, and the conversation around sustainability is often dominated by fear rather than action. E.ON Next and Channel 4 set out to change that.

By reimagining the much-loved Secret Life of 5 Year Olds format for a social-first audience, The Secret Life of: The Next Generation made climate action feel accessible, achievable, and even fun. This wasn’t just another campaign—it was a movement to inspire real change, encouraging children and their families to embrace small, everyday energy saving actions that collectively make a big difference. Through playful experiments, expert insights, and the unfiltered wisdom of five-year-olds, the series tackled climate concerns with hope, positivity, and practical solutions. And audiences responded in force: with 22M views, 192K social interactions, and a 74% rise in positive perception of E.ON Next, the campaign didn’t just spark conversation—it drove real behaviour change.
