Celebrating its 10-year anniversary, Dive In Festival 2024 reaffirmed its position as the world’s largest diversity and inclusion (D&I) festival in the insurance industry. Since its inception, it has driven measurable change, increasing female leadership to 35% (from 27% in 2019) and ethnic minority representation to 9% (from 5% in 2018). However, sustaining its impact required a revitalised strategy to re-engage senior leadership, increase middle management participation, and expand its global influence.

PR agency, The Wilful Group, repositioned Dive In as a business-critical initiative, reframing D&I as essential to resilience, innovation, and commercial success. The CEO Talking Heads Series showcased industry leaders championing D&I, while the Nominate My Manager initiative inspired middle management to actively foster inclusion. As a result, senior leadership attendance grew by 6%, middle management participation increased by 8%, and overall festival attendance surged by 43% to 44,329 attendees, reversing a previous decline. A refreshed communications strategy amplified Dive In’s presence, securing 178+ media placements, increasing website traffic to 79,000 visits, and driving 208,563 social media impressions. International expansion saw the festival grow from 35 to 45 participating countries, with strengthened media partnerships across Asia, the Middle East, and Mexico. With a 19% increase in Global Festival Partners (sponsors), Dive In reinforced stakeholder confidence and secured long-term sustainability of the festival. Uniting competitors in a traditionally conservative sector, it continues to drive meaningful change. Dive In 2024 proved that diversity is not just a moral imperative - it is a necessity for the next decade and beyond.
