Our sustainability strategy drives our purpose. Its goals include reducing food waste, sourcing renewable electricity, eliminating single-use plastics, and ultimately reaching net zero by 2050. Central to this is our 4-point Climate Action Plan—Measure, Reduce, Restore, Evolve—which prioritises tangible action and inspires others to follow. In 2024, our purpose-driven efforts expanded significantly. Utilising our industry-first Carbon Fund, we transitioned much of our European coach fleet to HVO biofuel, reducing emissions by 57.7%. Our Château and Gasthof properties are powered by 100% renewable electricity, where KITRO’s AI-powered food waste solution was also implemented to minimise waste. MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experiences are highlights of Contiki trips, in which travellers can enjoy unique experiences that also give something back to the planet, wildlife and local communities. We lived and breathed our purpose-driven values through content and marketing in 2024, spotlighting under-represented voices and partnering with creators and organisations who have their own positive impact on the planet. Ultimately, from embracing new carbon-reduction and carbon capture technologies; from brand guidelines to media spend; social reels to long-form documentaries; from the creatives we work with and communities we spotlight and support, to the wildlife we protect – our actions in 2024 back up our words, when we say: Contiki is a brand that's driven by purpose.
