He/Him

Mimmo Di Giacomo is a senior executive professional with over 24-year career in non-profit. Born and raised in Milan, Italy, wth studies in Veterinary Medicine, he moved to Canada in 1997 where he decided to join the non-profit sector. There he covered progressively senior development roles and has successfully contributed to the growth (in income and programmes) of national and international organisations he was appointed to (Arthritis Society, WWF Canada). Returning to UK in 2008, his passion and focus remained on human health and animal welfare issues. A data driven professional and project management enthusiast, he applied his entrepreneurial and innovative approaches to establish new markets in North & South America, India and South-East Asia, whilst expanding the reach and charitable impacts of the organisations he served like Frontline Aids and Soi Dog Foundation. In 2012 he finally realised his long time dream of making his first feature film in partnership with the award winning director, Philip Goodhew, and under his production Company, BabalooFilms. He is currently Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Comms at Animal Free Research UK where he hopes his lasting contribution will lead to the end of animal use in medical research – to the benefits of animals and humans alike.
