In 2003, Vodafone Egypt Foundation was established as the first telecom foundation in Egypt registered in the Ministry of Social Solidarity as a NGO focusing its efforts on education and inclusion. Vodafone Egypt Foundation has been leveraging on Vodafone Egypt brand reach of 44 million customers and its technological expertise to improve livelihoods through the power of digital education. End of 2018, Vodafone Egypt Foundation created the first zero rated, mobile first education platform, Ta3limy, to support online learning for Egyptian students, parents and teachers reimagining the way they consume education through technology.
In partnership with Samsung Electronics Egypt and Nahdet Misr for Printing & Publishing, one of the best content providers in Egypt, Vodafone Egypt Foundation launched a campaign to create an impact through the power of digital education. The objective of the campaign was to encourage underprivileged primary, elementary and high school students to have access to educational content on Ta3limy including interactive videos, summaries and question banks, in addition to Arabic books & STEM courses for free and without taking from their Internet bundle. This saves money and time from private lessons. The campaign included on ground activation in 14 governorates, social media buzz with 88 million impressions achieved & a radio ad with two interviews. The campaign resulted in 42% increase in beneficiaries on Ta3limy platform impacting more than 621,000 households.
