Spot Leukaemia
Catalyst PR
Client: Leukaemia Care
Nearly 10,000 people are diagnosed with leukaemia every year in the UK – 28 people every day – and it’s responsible for around 4,800 deaths annually. However, awareness of its early warning signs remains dangerously low, contributing to delayed diagnosis and poorer outcomes for patients. In 2025, Leukaemia Care and Leukaemia UK relaunched the annual Spot Leukaemia campaign, aiming to reach the widest possible audience and encourage earlier action. Traditionally held throughout September to align with Blood Cancer Awareness Month, an additional month was introduced in 2025 to utilise the campaign’s partnership with JCDecaux Community Channel, and the availability of multiple OOH sites across the UK in June. Catalyst PR devised and executed an integrated, multi‑channel communications strategy combining high‑impact Out of Home (OOH) advertising, national and regional media relations, authoritative video content, digital advertising and social media engagement. Crucially, support from JCDecaux Community Channel enabled the campaign to reach people in everyday, unavoidable spaces – where they live, work and travel. The campaign delivered record‑breaking engagement, reaching millions across the UK, significantly increasing campaign recall, driving a 148% rise in website visits and a 237% increase in searches for “Spot Leukaemia”.
