The 2022 Global Student Prize celebrates some of the most talented and resilient students, who have demonstrated extraordinary resilience and determination in bettering their communities and beyond. Selected students have engaged in projects addressing issues such as climate change, poverty, water safety, and mitigating the impacts of war.

The Global Student Prize aims to secure genuine recognition for these extraordinary students and their achievements worldwide through global media coverage, and to provide a mechanism for students to have their ideas and initiatives listened to by elite international decision-makers. In its first year as a standalone prize, Apollo Strategic Communications ensured that students across the world and their amazing projects and achievements remain the centrepiece of the thousands of press coverage we have secured during the campaign. As a result, we created a class of well-known change-makers across the globe, bringing much-needed awareness, legitimacy, and creating direct access to some of the most influential decision-makers in their regions. The winner, Ukrainian teenager Igor Klymenko, used the global media platform created by the Prize to highlight the resilience of the Ukrainian people, and his invention, which he hopes to alleviate the tragedies caused by landmines during a conflict, and which persist after an area ceases to be a conflict zone.
