In 2019, Cadbury continued to live this purpose with the ‘Donate your words’ campaign, donating the words from their iconic Cadbury Dairy Milk bars, in support of the 225,000 older people who often go a whole week without speaking to anyone. 30p per bar sold went to the charity Age UK.
This ‘wordless’ bar was supported by TV and print; online documentary films; social and various partnerships. The public were also asked to donate their words, by talking to lonely older people too.
To date, bar sales alone have raised £400,000 for Age UK and over 990,000 people have donated their words to lonely older people proving there really is a glass and a half in everyone."
