This Is Art Not Porn

This Is Art Not Porn, Fearless PR / Vicky Martin Method
Vicky Martin is a leading medical tattooist with a real purpose to help women who have had breast cancer surgery feel whole again.

She’d been blocked by Facebook hundreds of times because she dared to show before and after photos of her clients with their new 3D areola tattoos. These photos were posted on Vicky’s own pages and in mastectomy groups in order to raise awareness of what’s possible for breast cancer survivors.

Despite Facebook’s policy to allow instances of nudity for medical or educational purposes - including post mastectomy images - they continued to ban Vicky from sharing images of her work claiming it was pornographic and refused to talk to her in person.

On hearing Vicky’s plight, Fearless PR joined forces with her to help make her voice heard and fight for the equality and inclusion of medical tattooists, technicians and breast cancer survivors to post messages and images that are clearly intended for medicinal or educational purposes.

The ‘This is Art not Porn’ campaign was created on a minimal budget, very short time frame and with the support of a group of passionate, inspirational breast cancer survivors and The Pink Ribbon Foundation.

Together they forced Facebook to finally listen and respond with a written apology and allowed Vicky full access to showcase her work across its platform.

The campaign also created news headlines around the world including the UK, Europe, America, Canada and New Zealand. Here is our story.
